Educational Support to Children

Four types of education centers are established by CARE T based on the learning needs of the rescued child laborers.

1. Children Transit Education Center

Objective: To upgrade the educational level of the rescued under-age employees so that they become eligible to be included in the regular stream of school education.

Course conducted: Bridge course

Trainers: trained experienced teachers

2. Children Activity Centers

Aim: To prevent early school drop-out of children

Objectives of the activities: To inspire the children to value the importance of education. To motivate them to continue their schooling

Approach: Joyful learning

3. Village Children Development Centers

Aim: To strengthen the social skills of the village children by encouraging them to participate in social events at their location

Activities conducted: Training in traditional plays, indoor games and sports activities. Participating in social event on national and international days relevant to children and youth to exhibit their talent.

4. School Children’s Education Support Programme

Aim: To improve the learning level of slow learners

Action taken: after school tuition classes

Highlight: individual attention based on their learning level

Tutors: trained teachers assigned through Parent-Teacher Association

Total no of beneficiaries of educational support: 54,428 children from marginalized communities through various centers over the years
